Free Continuing Education Credit for Alzheimer's Disease Education offered by the AANP

Nurse Practitioners renewing their Delaware RN and APRN licenses by 9/30/2023 may have noted a new requirement in their recent renewal notices regarding completion of 1 CE of continuing education in Alzheimer's Disease or other dementias.  According to the renewal notices, this requirement pertains to "all nursing professionals who work in adult gerontology in a healthcare setting" .  An inquiry to the Delaware Board of Nursing, was not able to clarify exactly which adult gerontology nursing professionals or practice settings this new requirement was intended to include.  An attestation that this continuing education was completed is required when renewing the RN and APRN license in DELPROS, but if audited, the CE certificate must be produced.
