8:00 AM: Updates on Antipsychotics and Bipolar Disorder: Caren Coffey-McCormick, DNP, PMHCNS-BC, MSN, RN This presentation will review the pathophysiology, signs, and symptoms of Bipolar II Disorder and when to refer to a specialist. Current management of the person with Bipolar II Disorder and important health maintenance issues are reviewed.

Dr. Coffey-McCormick is a seasoned mental health professional who received both her Bachelor and Master of Nursing from the University of Delaware in 2004 and 2007, respectively. She received her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Alabama in 2013. She is board certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist and has been an independent practitioner in psychiatric mental health since 2008. Dr. Coffey-McCormick owns a small, outpatient psychiatric mental health practice in Middletown, Delaware. She is also an Assistant Professor at the University of Delaware in the Nursing Department. In her work, she is passionate about providing respect to all individuals and assisting them in preserving their dignity. She perseveres to find solutions for challenging mental health concerns.

9:00 AM:  New Drug Therapy Approvals 2022:  Tep Kang, PharmD, BCPS, BCCCP  The objectives of this presentation are to instill knowledge to the audience to enable them to incorporate recently approved drugs into their practice, understand the onset and off set of these drugs and know the indications of these newly approved drugs.

Dr. Kang is a Critical Care Pharmacist at Christiana Hospital and has worked on the Surgical Critical Team for the past 25 years. He is also an Adjunct faculty Professor at the University of Delaware and Wilmington University. In 1993, Dr. Kang graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Pharmacy with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. He received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree with high distinction from the University of Rhode Island School of Pharmacy in 1996. He completed his Pharmacy Practice Residency at the University of Maryland Medical Systems in 1997.

10:30 AM: Androgen Deprivation Therapy and Oral Androgen Receptor Inhibitor Use in Prostate Cancer Patients: Pharmacology and Patient Management: Sarah Neely-Collins, FNP-BC  In the United States, 1 in 8 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during their lifetime. Of those men affected, approximately 40% will receive androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) during treatment. This presentation enhances the advanced practice clinician’s knowledge of the pharmacokinetics, potential side effects, common drug to drug interactions, and necessary ongoing monitoring of prostate cancer patients being treated with androgen derivation therapy and oral androgen receptor inhibitors. 

11:30 AM: Pharmacology and the Nurse Practitioner Role in Medical Aesthetics,  Beatrice Gaynor, PHD, APRN, FNP-C  Dr. Beatrice Gaynor is a Nurse Practitioner practicing in Medical Aesthetics. During this presentation she will introduce the learner to common medications used in medical aesthetics for both cosmetic and medical indications. Dr. Gaynor will discuss neuromodulators, dermal fillers, biostimulators, fat dissolving agents, and medications to manage complications.
