Nominations are Open for the 2024 DCNP Elections

Members of the Delaware Coalition of Nurse Practitioners (DCNP) are a critical component to the organization’s leadership. Each DCNP member has knowledge and skills that would be beneficial to continue to advance the role of NPs in Delaware. Nominations are now open on the Board of Directors for President-Elect, Treasurer and Southern Chapter Coordinator. Nominations are also open for 2 positions on the Nominations Committee.  The President-Elect, Treasurer and Southern Chapter Coordinator are voting positions on the Board of Directors and are involved in decision-making strategies regarding DCNP function, policy, and state legislative support. Candidates must be full NP members for 12 months prior to the elections.  Student members and Affiliate members are not eligible.

If you are interested in running for one of these positions, please submit a copy of your CV/resume and a brief statement about why you are interested in the position and why you would be a good candidate by using the “Contact Us” tab on the DCNP website landing page. Submissions must be received by December 1, 2023, and will form the slate of candidates. The slate of candidates will be reviewed and voted on by the Board of Directors for acceptance. Applicants approved by the Board of Directors become the ballot. Electronic voting of the ballot will take place from mid-January to mid-February 2024. Candidates will be notified about the results of the election in early March 2024 and the results announced to the general membership at the Annual Business Meeting in mid-March 2024. Newly elected officers will assume the roles and responsibilities of their elected positions at the Annual Business Meeting.

Positions on the 2024 Ballot:

President-Elect: Serves as President-Elect for one year then ascends to President for one year, then serves as Past-President for one year.  Candidates must be willing to fulfill this 3-year commitment. Estimated time commitment 15-20 hours per month.

Treasurer: Serves 2-year term. Maintains DCNP financial accounts. Estimated time commitment 5-10 hours per month.

Southern Chapter Coordinator:  Serves 2-year term. Must be a member of the Southern Chapter, manages day to day function of the Southern Chapter including interacting with pharmaceutical representatives to schedule and organize monthly dinner meetings, running the dinner meetings and enacting strategies to increase membership. Estimated time commitment 15-20 hours per month.

Nominations Committee: Serves 2-year term. Estimated time commitment 5-10 hours per month depending on the month.
