Presentation Description:
This pharmacology-focused presentation provides an in-depth review of diabetes management across the lifespan, highlighting the unique therapeutic needs at each stage of life. Participants will explore how age-related changes influence drug absorption, metabolism, and excretion, and how these factors affect the efficacy and safety of antidiabetic medications. The session will cover first-line therapies, insulin regimens, newer drug classes, and individualized treatment plans, with special attention to pediatric dosing, pregnancy, and polypharmacy in older adults. Practical case studies and current clinical guidelines will support application to real-world practice.
Join the Delaware Coalition of Nurse Practitioners (DCNP) for our CE Conference for nurse practitioners and nurse practitioner students! The conference will provide a wide range of information across the lifespan and all NP certifications. Please see the exciting curriculum we have developed and our outstanding faculty. The registration fee includes your anticipated 7.25 CE (AANP Application will be submitted for 7.25, majority of which in pharmacology), breakfast and lunch in the state of the art simulation PCOM Simulation Center at Bayhealth Medical Center, Dover, DE. Exhibitors will also be onsite representing pharmaceutical companies and other organizations of interest to Delaware nurse practitioners.
