Focus on a Session:  Review of Asthma Management

Speaker Bio
Dr Golden has given Pharmacist CE presentations on diverse topics, both at Bayhealth and at local health-systems (e.g., TidalHealth Peninsula Regional). He has also delivered a podium presentation at the regional Eastern States Residency Conference and been a guest speaker at the international Hospital Pharmacists Association of Kenya Clinic Meeting. With respect to nursing education, he has collaborated with the University of Delaware School of Nursing to provide pharmacology education to nurse practitioner students. This has been a three-year partnership, affiliated with Bayhealth’s Pharmacy Residency Program

 

Session Description

This presentation will include a review of guideline recommendations for both pediatric and adult patients, appropriate prescribing of oral steroids for acute exacerbations, new medications approved for asthma including AIRSUPRA (albuterol-budesonide combination), and an interactive activity on how to counsel patients on the different inhaler devices.

The registration fee includes your anticipated 7.25 CE (AANP Application will be submitted for 7.25, majority of which in pharmacology), breakfast and lunch in the state of the art simulation PCOM Simulation Center at Bayhealth Medical Center, Dover, DE. Exhibitors will also be onsite representing pharmaceutical companies and other organizations of interest to Delaware nurse practitioners.
